Judging the Law SchoolsAbout the AuthorThomas E. Brennan, Sr. was the founder and President of the Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. His legal career -- as a practitioner, judge, and educator -- spans nearly half a century. He was elected to the Supreme Court of Michigan in 1966, and in 1969 he was chosen by his colleagues on the Supreme Court as the youngest Chief Justice in the nation at that time. Judge Brennan left the court at the end of 1973 to become the founding Dean of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Judge Brennan has made a unique contribution to American law and the legal profession through his writings, speeches, and sometimes feisty advocacy for access to legal education. He is a past member of the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation. Return to Thomas E. Brennan's Law School Rankings Menu. |
